Art Deco Ruby & Diamond Ring
Certain features earmark jewelry designed during the period known as Art Deco. With an eye turned toward the “modern?, two of those characteristics are gems of bold contrasting color and the use of sleek geometric settings. Hot fuschia pink rubies have been cut into a trapezoid shape; four (4) in all have been channel set in a row across the breadth of this Deco ring. A total ruby weight of approximately .75 carats is sure to create quite a visual impact. Flanking this broad expanse of color are fourteen (14) single cut diamonds of estimated .025 carats apiece (bringing a total diamond weight of .35 carats). Two lines of brilliance and shine with a color range of G-H and clarity SI-VS. All mounted into a superb 18k white gold setting of with an understated grace. Split or bifurcated shoulders gently meld into a smooth unadorned shank bringing forth a sleek and tailored ruby and diamond ring. The center plaque measures 5/16 of an inch (0.8 cm) in width by 9/16 of an inch (1.4 cm) in length by just less than 3/16 of an inch (0.4 cm) in height. Weight of 3.8 grams. Currently a size US 5-1/4 (UK J 1/2; Euro 15.75; 50 mm) and can be easily sized by our jewelers. In excellent condition; evidence of resizing when viewed with magnification. Dates to circa 1935. Note: All gem weights and color grades are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
